Barcelona Luis Suarez returns to Barcelona squad

Luis Suarez will be involved when Barcelona face Girona in a friendly on Wednesday evening.

The Uruguayan is included in Ronald Koeman's squad for the match at the Estadi Johan Cruyff after being left out of the team for last Saturday's friendly against Nastic.

In the meantime, Barcelona are still trying to sign a striker, with Lautaro Martinez their No.1 target and Memphis Depay the No.2.

The Catalan club haven't been able to match the asking prices for the strikers they are looking to bring in so far.

As for Suarez, the problem lies with his contract.

The 33-year-old wants to earn the remaining wages he's due to receive in the last year of his contract if he leaves this summer, but Barcelona don't want to pay them.

The situation has, therefore, arrived at a stalemate and Suarez is beginning to think about staying at the Camp Nou beyond this summer.

This is despite the fact that Koeman had relayed to him that he wasn't in his plans for the season and that the Dutch coach left him out of his first matchday squad against Nastic.

If Barcelona are unable to bring in a new striker, Koeman won't turn down the opportunity to keep and play Suarez this campaign.
