Argentina's President Sends Message to Lionel Messi Requesting Star to Return to Newell's Old Boys

Argentina's president, Alberto Fernandez has opened up on the transfer speculation upsurrounding national icon, Lionel Messi, calling on the record six-time Ballon d'Or winner to return to his homeland and end his career with Newell's Old Boys.
Messi shocked the footballing world when it emerged that he handed in a transfer request in order to leave Barcelona with his exit creating headlines for all the wrong reasons as LaLiga authorities declared that the striker would not be allowed to leave for anything lesser than his staggering €700million release clause.
Despite his mammoth release clause, a number of clubs including the likes of Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have been linked with his signing, though Argentina's president has now come out and voiced his desire with fans of Newell's Old Boys also recently parading the streets of Rosario in support of seeing Messi return back to the club.
"You are in our hearts and we have never seen you play in our country. Give us the pleasure of ending your career with Newell's Old Boys, your club," he said to C5N, as quoted by Goal.
It will be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out as Barcelona for their part would not be willing to let their greatest ever player leave without getting a substantial transfer fee.
