School open soon check date


According to rumors floating around, there are rumors that states that Universities will begin full operation next month
Adamu Adamu, speaking on school reopening nationwide in Nigeria on the 7th of September
According to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU); these rumors are false as no talk has been concluded between them and the federal government as Government are to pay their outstanding salaries first
Ogunyemi stated that its members at the University of Maiduguri and the Michael Opara University of Agriculture are owed five months’ salaries by the Accountant-General of the Federation on account of non-registration on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System
He also said that thousands of other academics across universities are suffering the same predicament
Also stating “Thousands of other academics across the universities are suffering the same fate. So, while we counsel that government at both the federal and state levels must meet the task force specified guidelines for reopening of educational institutions, we insist that all the arrears of the withheld salaries of our members in federal and state universities must be paid immediately to pave for further discussion on the outstanding issues in the Memorandum of Action of February 7, 2019.”
Also, the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has. started staging mass protests against the continued closure of all educational institutions in Nigeria due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
