COVID-19: Fed Unity Schools Resumption Date 2019/2020 [UPDATED]



Federal Government Unity Schools / Federal Science and Technical College Nationwide Resumption Dates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Term for 2019/2020 Academic Session (Junior and Senior Secondary Schools Students (JSS & SSS).
Latest Update: The Federal Government (FG) on Monday 27th July, 2020 declared that all Secondary schools in the country should resume from 4th of August, 2020 for exit classes only.
Students will have two weeks within which to prepare for the West African Examinations (WAEC) due to start on the 17th of August, 2020 .

It was agreed that the exit classes should resume immediately after the Sallah break, from the 4th of August, 2020 to enable them prepare for the WAEC examinations scheduled to commence from the 17th of August, 2020 .

The Federal Ministry of Education is yet to announce a new resumption date for the commencement of academic activities of Federal Government Unity Colleges nationwide especially for final year (pri.6, jss3 & ss3) students for 2019/2020 academic session.

It will be recalled that Presidential Task Force (PTF) earlier announced the 4th August, 2020 as resumption of academic activities and examination for all final year students of the federation.

The Minster of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu, wishes to make it clear to the general public that all 104 Unity Schools in the country will not partake in the said resumption date and advised all schools to remain closed and await the directives of the federal government. This is in line with the proactive step aimed at preventing the spread of the dreaded Corona virus.
The COVID-19 break shall last as long as the virus exist, so with this development, students and pupils are advice to stay off unnecessary gathering for the time being.

All schools, school leaders and school associations are implored to take note and adhere strictly to the this notice above.
