All Secondary Schools and Universities Should Re-open Tommorow Under These Conditions ( Opinion )

So many people have been complaining about the total lockdown of schools, places of worship, businesses Nationwide. The cases of covid-19 in Nigeria is increasing Rapidly day by day. Just yesterday the Nigeria center of disease control announced new 779 cases of covid-19 with total 558 death and 8625 recovered

It is going about three ( 3 ) months since the total closure of schools accross all states in the country.

The Federal government ordered total lockdown of schools Nationwide as a preventive measures to curtail the spread of the deadly virus ( Covid-19 ).

For me I think As long as market is open with crowd and no social distancing, no hand sanitizer or hand washing we are deceiving ourselves to allow school to remain close till date.

In this article I will highlight my opinion in which the Federal government can order Reopening of schools across all states In the country.

The Federal government can order Reopening of schools Nationwide under some of these conditions stated below. Here are the conditions below;

1) Facemask

All Students, teachers, principal. infact everybody in the school including security officer, gate man, food sellers and so on should wear a facemask to school always.

I think if 99% of student and staff of each schools in the country cooperate with the Federal government to wear Facemask always, the spread of the virus will reduce and federal government can order Reopening of Schools Nationwide soon.

2) Social distancing

Each student must observe social distancing in their sitting arrangement. Even when writing exams and test each student must practice social distancing. In every Examination hall there should not be more than 60 persons in each hall.

I think with these method the Federal government can order Reopening of Schools Nationwide and all student can take their final examination. Waec candidate can write their exams if they agree to this method. One problem with waec candidate is that, they won't agree with social distancing in exam Hall because they would love to practice examination malpractice.

My advice to waec candidate is that they should take their studies serious, if you read very well you would not need anything like malpracticing.

3) School disinfecting

All schools should disinfect their surrounding. Each schools should disinfect their surrounding at least three times a day.

I think with the method schools can re-open very soon.

4) washing of hands

All schools should be instructed to make a running tap water with hand sanitizers available at the entrance of the school and at the entrance of all the class rooms.  

Each student should be instructed to wash their hands every 10 minutes. If it is possible the owner of the schools can employ like 10 staff that will be directing each student to wash their hands.

I think with these method the Federal government can order school Re-opening Nationwide.

5) Isolation room

All schools must create a space to be used as an isolation centre. This is very necessary so that, whenever a student shows the signs or symptoms of Covid-19, they would be rushed to the isolation room so as prevent the spread of the deadly virus in the schools.

I think with all my above condition the federal government can order Reopening of all schools and universities Nationwide starting from tommorow.
